A previous post on this blog featuring a talk by Dirty Jobs host Mike Rowe noted a declining focus on skilled labor.
I was reminded of that post when I read this recent article from the Sioux City Journal: “Women in Sioux Falls area make inroads in trade careers.”
It features women who drive trucks, paint buildings, and repair HVAC systems for a living – good, solid careers that are not typically a part of career counseling sessions for young women.
Good on ya, ladies. You just may inspire a younger generation to follow in your steel-toed footsteps.
